Changes are good...right?

It was a rough full week at a new school, so I decided to join my colleagues from Elkin for a few cervezas Friday evening. Things did not start well...one of the buses I am in charge of at my school was held up due to the policewoman's funeral, so I stayed until 4:15ish. I made it to the bar by 4:45 and saw so many smiling happy faces. I really miss my Elkin family!

Then, the drama began...

Our fertility clinic called telling me that the egg donor was ready for retrieval. She went on Sunday morning and had her ultrasound, and we found out that she has to have her eggs harvested on Tuesday (tomorrow). That means that 3 to 5 days later, Brian and I need to be there to decide which eggs get implanted into our carrier. Thus, we will be leaving Thursday to go to LA to meet with the clinic. We will stay there for a week, decided on which eggs and making sure our gestational carrier is feeling well.

This was a surprise, as it was a few days earlier than we had anticipated and last minute airfare changes are costly. However, now we will be there for a week, hopefully will be able to see some friends, and-cross your fingers-will begin the 9/10 month process to becoming daddies.

Wish us luck!
